This is a full spread from Tongues issue 3, featuring the Chicken laying out some backstory for Astrid, and the two of them suddenly realizing the Rings are about to catch them in the open. It’s an outtake of a sort — page 47 was one of a very few that ended up getting redrawn and rescripted for the big book. So this is a kind of first draft in that sense. Ink on bristol board with cut-and-paste, white ink correction and some light pencil. 12.5” x 17”.
