Every Day Is Today is a collection of short pieces from a variety of disparate places and times, covering Nilsen’s last decade or so drawing comics for places like the New York Times, Nautilus, Matter, Smoke Signal and elsewhere. Many of the pieces comment in one way or another with history, science and politics, always in Nilsen’s signature playful, dark and absurd sensibility, peering into the abyss of current events and finding… well, dolphins and aliens and Winnie-the-Pooh.
